It is with great pleasure that we extend an exclusive invitation to join us on a transformative Summer Solstice retreat in the heart of Provence, France, a region steeped in spiritual history, perfumed by nature, and embraced by the artistry of creatives.

Throughout this six-day immersive experience, we will embark on a sensory journey, where you will craft your own botanical perfume, enjoy chef-prepared local food, and relax under the Solstice sun.

This retreat is filled with intention for each participant to connect with the ancestral land of Provence, and the ways of the people who have lived there for millennia. This sacred retreat is intended on creating a deeper sense of belonging to land, ways of healing through traditional perfume methods, celebrating the senses through local food, and using plants for healing with herbal medicine.

The retreat will take place June 9-15, 2024 amid the blooming Lavender at a gorgeous villa in Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, France with 8 private bedrooms. To ensure a high touch experience, space is limited.

Experience deep rejuvenation away from the ​bustle of everyday life, and bring a piece of it ​back home with you each time you use your ​sacred perfume you crafted in the heart of ​Provence.

Indulge in a gastronomic journey guided by an extraordinary French chef, who will craft all of your exquisite meals using fresh, local ingredients. Food preferences/intolerances are always accommodated. Our chef will walk you through the vibrant local farmer’s market to learn and savor the delicacies of the region like a local.

Gain insights into the art of essential oil production ​during an exclusive visit to a local essential oil distillery. ​Witness the intricate process of extracting essences ​from native plants, providing a deeper understanding of ​the region's olfactory treasures.

Our final evening will be enhanced by a magical ​celebration of the Summer Solstice, where we ​will revel in a specially curated meal under the ​Provencal sky, followed by a traditional Solstice ​ritual under the quarter moon.

We will gather plants throughout the week for ​this ritual, in which have been traditionally used ​for Solstice celebrations.

Laura Ash, Clinical Herbalist

Immerse yourself in the world of Provencal herbs with daily wildcrafting sessions led ​by Laura Ash, Clinical Herbalist, Founder of Land of Verse. We will walk the land and ​gather local herbs each morning, transforming them into teas and herbal incense ​bundles, connecting with the healing power of nature, imbedding ancestral wisdom ​into our daily routine. Laura is available for private herbal consultations during the ​retreat by request.

Laura’s clinical herbalism work for the last 22 years has been informed by marrying ​traditional wisdom with modern research. Laura founded Herbal Anthropology ​Project, 501(c)3 in 2014 to preserve and protect traditional medicine around the ​globe with Indigenous communities through Intellectual Property protection. This ​endeavor informs Laura’s passion to connect people with their ancestral land to ​support all people to connect with their healing remedies from their own lineage.

Carole Addison-Goyne, Botanical Perfumer

Carole is the founder of Nomad Botanicals, a luxury aromatherapy and natural perfume company, built on three decades of her experience in the field. She specializes in crafting natural perfumes that showcase the aromatic beauty and functionality of botanicals on our wellbeing. On the retreat, she will be guiding you to craft a signature perfume from a botanical perfumer’s organ, including some native, locally sourced essential oils & absolutes.

Carole has felt connected to the scented landscape of various regions of France throughout the past three decades and has cherished some profound experiences there. She originally set out to attend perfumery school at ISIPCA in Versailles. After studying chemistry, visiting the school, and delving deeper into the field, Carole discovered her true passion existed in the world of botanical essences vs. synthetic ones. This shift in her path was a turning point in building her holistic repertoire of knowledge in aromatherapy, clean skincare, cosmetics, and botanical perfumery. Her path has consistently led back to France from attending aromatherapy education in Grasse, the legendary perfume capital of the world, to visiting distilleries throughout Provence, and perfumeries in Paris.

One of Carole’s greatest joys is sharing her passion, knowledge, and experience from working with essential oils & absolutes over the past 30 years. She has been fortunate to work with mentors and considers one of her greatest to be Mandy Aftel, a world renowned Natural Perfumer and bestselling author. Carole has received multiple Natural Perfumery certifications from Mandy and has incorporated aspects of Mandy’s Slow Scent® method into this special retreat. Carole is grateful to keep the ripple effect going as she shares the perfume knowledge & traditional wisdom her mentors have shared with her.

Born and raised in Provence, Benjamin is the head Chef ​de cuisine chez Caves Legrand Filles et Fils, in Paris, Il de ​France.

His cuisine is plant forward, using local produce in ​season. He infuses his food with spices, herbs, and ​sometimes even essential oils to create the most ​decadent, healthy food that you can experience in Paris.

Born and raised on the French Riviera, Marie is an ​International entrepreneur with +10 years of ​experience in communications and event management. ​Marie has been working with The Scarlet Sage and ​Land of Verse since 2016.

Mother of two, Marie is an essential oil and herbal ​medicine enthusiast for herself and her family.

All-inclusive benefits during the retreat include: private ensuite accommodations, chef-prepared meals, excursions, and all perfume materials (a set of essential oils & absolutes).

Not included in the price are all spa services and travel to and from the retreat location.
